Just A Little Doolittle

If you know what you are looking for, you can see the images, clearly. But to the untrained eye, if I told you that I saw horses in this picture you would think I was a kook! My medical situation has morphed into an enigma ~ some things just can't be explained and/or understood by anyone but an expert. Take for example the ever elusive Occult Tight Filum Terminale ~ Apparently, I have baffled my latest neuro-surgeon. Today, I called to get an update on his findings from his extensive scrutiny of my MRI films (he's had 4 weeks to mull over the information). His medical assistant told me that he had just drafted a letter to send to me.

A letter??? So ~ he's going to dismiss me as a patient due to his expertise ~ he finds no tethered cord and no need for surgery. I don't have that in writing, yet, but I am pretty sure that's the verdict. So that means that I have a week to plot out my next steps and plan of attack. I sense that an appeal is just around the next bend in the road.

Lace,

ARRRRRRGH!!!!!

That's my only issue with TCI. They seem to have diagnosis at times that the rest of the medical world just can't figure out. What's the status on just decompression? Is that a definite "yes, you need it" and it's the spinal surgery they're still trying to work out?

Brillant. The horses are wondorous. Like you. To see the unseen...would that the matrix was attuned.

I just found your blog this morning. I always get excited when i find another Chiarian. My wife is one. I'll need to read up on your previous posts to catch up, but I hope you can get the infernal doctors on your page. This can definitely be frustrating. This was me, Bobby commenting, not my liver billybob.(he's snarky)

Lace,
I wish docs like him would have to go thru this type of scary stuff just once. It would make them more empathetic people and better doctors. See if you can get an appointment just to confront him and press for answers in person. When I was diagnosed I felt like the surgeon was thinking "goodie, goodie, a cool procedure I get to do!"

It will be interesting to know what his letter says. I agree considering all the tests you've been through he owes you more than a letter. I'm sorry you are so frustrated! Love you, Amanda

Lace,

Uuuggghhh!

I have come to the decision lately, that no matter how wonderful a doc might be in every other area, if they don't have eyes for understanding the dynamics of Chiari and all its components, I move on.

We shouldn't have to waste our time with ignorance.

For the doctor: Smack, smack, smack, smack and smack again!

For Lace: {{{{HUGS}}}} I am so sorry this has happened to you. What is the matter with these doctors? Hang in there lady. Our path seems to have a lot of pot holes but we have someone strong enough to carry us over them. God is going to get you through this.
