Out of the Darkness

1 p.m. Friday - All is well! Just got back from seeing Lacie for 5 mins. at the Surgical ICU. This is where they put all the surgical patients to recover immediately after surgery so they can keep a close watch on them. They said she'll be in there for about 4 hours before being given a room assignment. She was still fairly groggy and very puffy. I'm guessing she may have had a bit of an allergic reaction to something they gave her. They said yesterday that they are now giving patients botox to help with the healing process but it sometimes can cause a mild allergic reaction. I was supposed to see her surgeon for an update before seeing her, but that didn't happen, so I really don't know much other than she looks okay and all must be well. They had a LOT of patients in surgery this morning so I can imagine they are very busy.

So that's the update. Thank you everyone this morning for your continued thoughts, prayers and well wishes. And with that, I'm getting some lunch!

Thanks be to God! I'm so relieved. Lace is in good hands and whatever arises post-op, she couldn't be in a better place. Hannah, Sky and I held hands over breakfast at 7:30AM and prayed, then in silence, pictured yours/John's and Lacie's faces and sent you love. Halleluia! I am grateful to be able toshare this good news when Hannah and Sky arrive home from school. Kiss Lace for me and tell her I love her. We are halfway there...

I'm glad that she is out of surgery....and that it appears that things went well. Now is the waiting period. We are all thinking of you guys and know that things will be wonderful, once she is done with this part of the journey. Thanks for the updates and make sure that you take care of yourself as well. Tell Lacie that all her friends at MGAM say hello and let her know that we are thinking of her (and you).

Thank you for taking the time to keep us up to date. I have been checking all day. Many of us have been praying. Melissa specifically prayed for Laci's "spinal surgery." That was what Laci told her on Sunday and she has not forgotten! ;-) I hope that God keeps you all safe.
