Amazing Medical Story

An amazing medical story was on the Oprah Winfrey show last week. As a member of the Army Reserves, she was deployed to Iraq where she became the victim of a roadside bomb. Shrapnel from the bomb penetrated three lobes of her brain and she was given a 2% chance of surviving.

The neurosurgeon who saved her life removed a large portion of her skull and sewed it inside her abdomen for safe keeping. She was then shipped out the the United States where she spent several months in the hospital. Please take a moment to click on the link and read the story.
