I Can't Brain Today

My brain tail has totally stolen my muse again and replaced it with a swirling, vertigo brain. This slogan ~ I can't brain today, I have the dumb ~ is perfect since I walk around daily in a thick brain fog ~ but the sad thing is, I often scramble the words and it comes out ~ I can't dumb today I have the brain!

I am counting down the days til I go in for surgery! Trying to keep myself busy with life ~ taking it one day at a time and trying to remember what day it is ~ what planet I am on. The girls have their cheerleading competition this weekend ~ a fun filled day of loud cheerleaders and blaring music ~ ooo ooo ~ can't wait. Seriously, I do enjoy watching them perform but could really do without all the activity surrounding the event.

Ohh my God, that is so funny.

I am stealing this graphic, having it put on a half a dozen t-shirts and then wearing them all the time.

I get tired of explaining what a Chiari is, what a syrinx is and all that stuff... Now I just say "I have the dumb's"

T-48 hours to decompression. I guess I can not say that for to much longer.

Wow...I need to keep that sign around here!

I read a newspaper story today about a local woman who has Chiari. It's amazing that her story was so touching, and yet I am not taken seriously by some of my doctors. One of them, however, my NP who takes care of my pain meds, is the one who pointed me to the article. She said it made her think of me. I'm not the only person she has known with the "brain tail," and she's really pulling for me to get some relief.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from TCI for an appointment.

Peace - D

HI Lacie..
Im sorry that the Dumbs have decided to camp out for a while. I know how frustrating it can be. Try to make light of it as much as your can..and remember God always understands what is in you heart.

Love Dee

At least you have a reason to "have the dumb". My muse is gone gone gone. I don't think she's coming back.

I hope this link comes through, I thought this was too cute to not share:

With Brain Injury, we call it a brain hike when we can't process, think, word find.
